- This event has passed.
September 13 @ 5:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Chairperson: Kelli Robbins – firstname.lastname@example.org
Location: Savoy Restaurant
Purpose of the Event:
Enjoy helping kids, while sipping a drink, eating some food and having FUN with your fellow Pittsburgh Rotarians. Let’s toast our “new” RCP President Robin Zoufalik and share his vision of giving back to our community at our first Thursday Gathering of our new Rotary season.
Join your fellow Pittsburgh Rotarians in helping THE EDUCATION PARTNERSHIP! If you have any spare backpacks, or wish to purchase one for donation, please bring them with you to The Savoy. Donated backpacks will be distributed to needy children once they are filled with school supplies. And yes, there may be a hands on volunteer opportunity before school starts – details to follow once we receive them.
Sadly, many families struggle to afford food. Often, backpacks, pencils and paper just don’t make the list of necessities. That means there are more than 60,000 school-age kids across our region who don’t have access to the most basic supplies—the things that enable students to participate in learning activities, complete their homework and feel like valuable members of the class.
Enjoy “Service Above Self” and Rotary fellowship (and maybe even a cocktail) this Thursday. See you at the Savoy!
